What is the difference between Sponsored Links ads in Google Adwords and Google Shopping ads?
In the video below, CEO Tiago Flores Dias clarifies the main characteristics of each of the Google Adwords ad formats.
What are sponsored links?
Sponsored links are text ads that direct traffic to a website or landing page; they are the standard ad format in Google's search network and apply to all types of advertisers.
What are Google Shopping ads?
Google Shopping ads are exclusively designed for e-commerce. Through them, advertisers can provide product catalogs with prices, stock, and payment conditions; you just need to have an account on the Google Merchant Center.
It can be said that Google Shopping is an evolution in Google's search network.
Of all paid ads, Google Shopping tends to have the highest conversion rates. However, there are some criteria for this, such as:
-
Having a good price;
-
High-quality images;
-
Good product description;
-
If you have videos, even better;
-
Checkout must be simple, fast, and easy;
-
Viable front.
It is interesting to have some discount or promotion, such as free shipping over a certain amount. This helps at the time of purchase as it grabs attention.
How to advertise products without a price on Google Shopping
Products without a price should not be on Google Shopping. Since you pay per click, if you advertise a product without a price, you will be charged for each click on the ad. This is not worthwhile, as a competitor may have the same product but with a price. Certainly, it will be from them that customers will buy.
