What is the difference between Google Adwords Sponsored Links ads and Google Shopping ads?
In the video below, CEO Tiago Flores Dias clarifies the main characteristics of each of the Google Adwords ad formats.
What are sponsored links?
Sponsored links are text ads that direct traffic to a website or landing page; it is the standard ad format in Google's search network and applies to all types of advertisers.
What are Google Shopping ads?
Google Shopping ads are exclusively designed for e-commerce. Through them, advertisers can showcase product catalogs with prices, stock, and payment conditions; you just need to have an account on the Google Merchant Center.
It can be said that Google Shopping is an evolution in Google's search network.
Of all paid ads, Google Shopping tends to have the highest conversion rates. However, there are certain criteria for this, such as:
-
Having a good price;
-
High-quality images;
-
Good product description;
-
If there are videos, even better;
-
Checkout must be simple, fast, and easy;
-
Viable front.
It is interesting to have some discount or promotion, such as free shipping over a certain amount. This helps during the purchase, as it attracts attention.
How to advertise products without prices on Google Shopping
Products without prices should not be on Google Shopping. Since you pay per click, if a product without a price is advertised, you will be charged for every click on the ad. This is not worth it, as a competitor may have the same product but with a price. Surely, they will be the ones who get the sale.
