What is the difference between Sponsored Links ads on Google Adwords and Google Shopping ads?

Through the video below, CEO Tiago Flores Dias explains in general terms the main characteristics of each of the Google Adwords ad formats.

What are sponsored links?

 Sponsored links are text ads that drive traffic to a website or landing page. They are the standard format for Google search network ads and apply to all types of advertisers.

What are Google Shopping Ads?

Google Shopping ads are designed exclusively for e-commerce. Through them, advertisers can offer product catalogs with prices, inventory, and payment terms. All they need is an account. Google Merchant Center.

You could say that Google Shopping is an evolution of Google's search network.

Of all the paid ads, Google Shopping ends up being the one with the highest conversion rates. However, there are certain criteria for this. For example:

  • Have a good price;

  • Quality images;

  • Good product description;

  • If you have videos even better;

  • Checkout needs to be simple, quick and easy;

  • Viable front.

It's nice to have a discount or promotion, like free shipping on orders over a certain amount. This helps with purchasing, as it attracts attention.

How to advertise products without a price on Google Shopping

Products without a price shouldn't be on Google Shopping. Because it pays per click, if you advertise a product without a price, you'll be paid for it whenever someone clicks on it. This isn't worth it, since a competitor might have the same product, but with a price. They'll certainly be the one to buy from.
